Lyme Borreliosis as Presented in the WHO International Classification of Diseases Codes (ICD11)

For decades, the World Health Organization (WHO) has recognized Lyme borreliosis ‘as a disease of consequence’. Recognition of the potential morbidity and mortality of Lyme borreliosis has increased in the WHO’s eleventh revision of the International Classification of Diseases Codes (ICD11). ICD11 now recognize fifteen complications from Lyme borreliosis whereas the ICD10 recognized three complications from the disease.
